10th Anniversary Celebrations – “Faraone Mennella’s Muses” and 100WHF Anniversary Gala with Bon Jovi and President Clinton

Thursday was a busy night with anniversary celebrations in midtown Manhattan!

“FARAONE MENNELLA’S MUSES” IN CELEBRATION OF FARAONE MENNELLA’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY
In celebration of Faraone Mennella’s 10th anniversary, two of my favorite Italian jewelry designers (Roberto Faraone Mennella and Amedeo Scognamiglio pictured above with me) hosted ”Faraone Mennella’s Muses” at Loft & Garden, the beautiful space that overlooks St. Patricks Cathedral in midtown Manhattan.  Portraits by Lorenzo Bringheli were on display featuring women whose style inspired Faraone Mennella jewelry.   It was a party not to be missed!  Guests included Pamela Fiori, Olivia Chantecaille, Tinsley Mortimer, Kimberly Skeen Jones, among others from the fashionable set.  I first met Amedeo and Roberto when I interviewed them for CNBC’s High Net Worth show -  that’s when I fell in love with their jewels .. and these two charming and talented jewelry designers!  Take a look at the video from Faraone Mennella’s YouTube channel:  Faraone Mennella.

100 WOMEN IN HEDGE FUNDS 10TH ANNIVERSARY NEW YORK GALA

A few blocks away at Cipriani 42nd Street, festivities were in full force with former President Bill Clinton and Jon Bon Jovi (one of my favorites and no surprise as a NJ native) along with another 600 in attendance at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds 10th Anniversary New York Gala.    President Bill Clinton  said, “For ten years, 100 Women in Hedge Funds has made a real difference for women and families by providing them with resources they need for long-term success. This year also marks a decade since I began my Foundation’s work and I am glad we have the friendship and support of 100 Women in Hedge Funds. I am pleased 100 Women in Hedge Funds is helping my Foundation make a positive impact for people around the globe. Thank you for your support and for all the good work you do.”   The William J. Clinton Foundation was named the beneficiary of the Gala and other fundraisers held in the US during the year.  Sonia E. Gardner, Chair of the 10th Anniversary Committee and Board member of 100WHF, said: ”100WHF’s philanthropic mission is to leverage its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the community, and on our 10th Anniversary we are thrilled to partner with the Clinton Foundation’s Alliance for a Healthier Generation, an organization that continues to do so much in the prevention of childhood obesity in the U.S. We were honored that President Bill Clinton attended the New York Gala to personally accept 100WHF’s donation on behalf of the Foundation. We hope that the funds raised at the New York Gala and other 100WHF fundraising events this year will significantly improve the lives of the many young people in this country threatened by this prevalent condition.”  Afsaneh Mashayekhi Beschloss of The Rock Creek Group received this year’s 100WHF Industry Leadership Award, and Pete Peterson, Co-founder of The Blackstone Group and Founder and Chairman of The Peter G. Peterson Foundation was honored with the 100WHF Effecting Change Award.   President Clinton’s moving speech focused on fighting childhood obesity –  he also said he was pleased to “honor the person I want to be when I grow up, Pete Peterson.”  The highlight of the night for many was… a special live guest performance by Jon Bon Jovi. Take a listen to one of my all time favorite Bon Jovi tunes – “Livin’ on a Prayer” (sound is better than video quality in this one…)    The evening ended with a successful live auction - a dinner for 10 with the former President and Bon Jovi auctioned for $130,000!  It was a great night for great cause, raising nearly $2 million for the Clinton Foundation’s U.S. Childhood Obesity Prevention program, Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
